Plum pen device Tank in Bristol: the budget shortlist
Plum in Bristol: 10 units tested over 7 weeks, pen device formats, priced per 10 ml for Bristol.
Choosing a pen device for plum
We run plum the same way in Bristol: same pen device, same 7 days, same coil resistance. The only variable was the coil, and that turned out to be the thing buyers get wrong.
Plum prices move with import duty more than with brand. In Bristol that means the entry option and the premium option can close to within £2.04 per 10 ml.
Below is the run we did for this search: 10 units, pen device, same room temperature, same juice rotation. Where results varied, the variation is printed rather than averaged away.
What a plum pen device really costs in Bristol
Plum in a pen device is not the same product you see in a catalogue photo, and the price per 10 ml is where the gap shows. In Bristol the liquid, the coil and the power setting all have to agree before the flavour actually lands.
How we tested plum in a pen device
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Choose strength against the ceiling in the UK, which is 20 mg/mL for retail here.
- Pick the pen device that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Batch code and production date, so a plum bottle turned in 7 weeks ago is not sold as new.
- Spare parts availability for pen device in Bristol, since tanks and pods go first.
- Stock depth: 10 lines held, so the shortlist does not turn into a special order.
- The landed price per 10 ml after 2–4 business days, which is the only number worth comparing.
Where plum goes wrong
- Mixing plum with a coil rated for a different wattage, which dulls the flavour and drains liquid faster.
- Ordering in bulk without checking whether couriers in Bristol accept nicotine freight.
- Treating the advertised £37 entry kit as the real cost when refills run £2.04 per 10 ml.
The rules that apply here
Packaging for plum in Bristol must be child-resistant, and the batch code has to be readable without cutting the shrink wrap.
Retail sales in the UK sit under the same nicotine the label declares, which is 20 mg/mL. Anything above it is not sold through this channel.
