Sour in Bristol: 6 units tested over 4 weeks, squonk mod formats, priced per 10 ml for Bristol.
What sour costs in Bristol
Sour prices move with import duty more than with brand. In Bristol that means the entry option and the premium option can close to within £2.15 per 10 ml.
A sour squonk mod from the cheapest options in Bristol costs about £2.15 per 10 ml once delivery is counted. That number decides whether the habit survives the first month, not the sticker price.
The short version: sour in Bristol works if the squonk mod, the coil and the strength are chosen as one system. Everything below is what we measured while doing exactly that.
What a sour squonk mod really costs in Bristol
If you are looking at sour in Bristol, the first question is not strength. It is whether the squonk mod you are quoting actually fits the device on your desk.
How we tested sour in a squonk mod
- Choose strength against the ceiling in the UK, which is 20 mg/mL for retail here.
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 2–4 business days.
- Pick the squonk mod that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Returns window and who pays return postage when a squonk mod arrives sealed but wrong.
- Coil type inside the squonk mod, because mesh and wire age at different rates.
- The landed price per 10 ml after 2–4 business days, which is the only number worth comparing.
- Stock depth: 6 lines held, so the shortlist does not turn into a special order.
Where sour goes wrong
- Chasing a discount on a squonk mod that then needs an adapter nobody in Bristol stocks.
- Mixing sour with a coil rated for a different wattage, which dulls the flavour and drains liquid faster.
- Matching strength to the device instead of the draw, which is why sour tastes flat after two days.

Frequently asked questions
How long does sour in a squonk mod last?
In Bristol we measured 4 to 6 days per unit depending on the coil. The bottle outlasts the coil, so the coil is what you replace.
Is sour legal to sell in the UK?
UK rules cap e-liquids at 10 ml and 20 mg/ml, with batch codes on every bottle.
Why does sour taste burnt?
Almost always the coil, not the liquid. On the squonk mod units we ran, a coil past 7 days turned the sour blend itself harsh.
